Imagination as a tool

Updated: Jan 15, 2024

What is imagination to you?

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world”.
- Albert Einstein

When we were kids, curiosity and imagination were strong enough to think that we could take on the world. Spending time with our imagination pretending to be a professional basketball player shooting hoops in the drive way with the buzzer going off, catch a football to win the game from our friends and family, being an astronaut, the president, a top lawyer, finding ways to fix problems that we ran into during the course of our daily lives. When we were kids we had more access to imagination to imagination, curiosity and the sixth sense than we do at any time in our lives. The best part is we can regain this control and knowing ourselves is the first step.

Imagination can be anything you want it to be, growing up we are told to “be reasonable”, find a steady job and get through life like everyone else. Imagination is in no shape or form reasonable it is a power that makes anything you can possibly think of reasonable. The trick is that it can only be utitlized through thoughts, feelings and it makes you the creator of your own enterprise. This is what makes it important to know yourself before using it as you can use it in negative ways as we all have in the past and will still run into in the future. Showing the importance of recognition of this and shifting it into the positive light.

Today, as you go through your day look around you as you are out and about in public and driving around. Think of all the imagination that it took to bring the world to where it is today from where it was in the past. Remember how those before you have lived and how much things have improved in today’s society, this was all done through imagination; an idea that was brought to life through knowing themselves and letting there imagination consciously and subconsciously work for them asleep or not.

One company that really stands out that goes back to being a kid again is the imagination that Disney adds within there movies, my favorite Pete’s Dragon was all about imagination and thinking of the extra ordinary! Showing the power of dreams and making them come to life not only to yourself but other people around you. Once you notice this quality in one movie you start to notice in many other movies. The one thing that stick out within their brand is the bridging between reality and creativity in your imagination. Many other movies and TV shows that we watch on a daily basis are based off of things that can and do happen in real life. It’s what get’s our gears turning with realistic situations that are filled with drama and comedy to laugh at. It hinders our imagination and visualization because we aren’t focused on the holistic and beautiful way that our mind can work once we take it out of reality finding peace with the things around us and creating your reality instead of letting your reality create you. Essentially, we can bring the feelings to life that we live on the beach, on top of the mountains, in a mansion whatever your dream may be as long as you feel these emotions and give your imagination some room to connect and roam freely to think of things that were incomprehensible before as Disney would do for us as we were children.

What have you imagined in the past, what do you imagine now?
